2026 Nest Events

13 March – First osprey observed at Toll Plaza

17 March – First osprey returns to the Marsh Meadows nest site.

18 March – Short-eared Owl visits the nest at Marsh Meadows.

Early April – Male and female on the nest with courtship and mating observed

20 April – First egg observed – hopefully more to come

24 April – Second egg observed

1 May – We now have FOUR eggs!!  Thanks to our dedicated nest watchers.  Incubation to hatching is 35-40 days.

31 May – First egg hatched. All four eggs were hatched by late June 1st. We now have four healthy chicks!!

21 June – Looks like only two chicks have survived.  Sadly this is “mother nature” at work.  Adult feeding the chicks, they look healthy.
